DoE releases Delhi School Calendar 2024: Check admission schedule, holiday list

The Directorate of School Education, Government of Delhi has issued the annual school calendar for the academic year 2024-25, applicable to all government and government-aided schools in the national capital. Check out important dates and other details.

The Directorate of School Education (DoSE) of the Delhi Government has issued the yearly school calendar outlining holidays and admission schedules for the academic session 2024-25. According to the circular, the academic session for 2025-2026 will commence on April 1, 2025.

The Delhi school annual calendar for the year 2024-25 was formulated after deliberation on the admission procedures for the same academic year, which took place on February 1st.

On February 1, deputy directors of education and representatives from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) collaborated to devise the Delhi school annual calendar. It instructed all school principals to ensure the completion of 220 working days before scheduling holidays and academic semesters/sessions.

DELHI SCHOOLS SUMMER VACATION 2024

According to the school calendar, summer vacation will commence on May 11 and conclude on June 30. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to work from June 28 to June 30, 2024. Additionally, the autumn break is scheduled from October 9 to October 11, while the winter holiday spans from January 1 to January 15, 2025.

DELHI SCHOOL CLASS 6 TO 9 ADMISSION 2024 SCHEDULE

The online registration process for classes 6-9 will be segmented into three phases. The "plan admission" phase is scheduled to be active from April 1 to May 10, 2024, followed by the "non-plan admission" phase, which will occur in three cycles.

The Department of Education has requested school administrators to forward Class 9 admission applications received from July 20 to July 26, 2024, to the relevant Deputy Director of Education (Zone) by July 27, 2024, after document verification.

Meanwhile, the admission process for Nursery, KG, and First Class (Entry Class) for the academic year 2024-2025 commenced on March 3 and is scheduled to conclude on March 15, 2024. The admission process is slated to commence on March 23. Additionally, the admission of children placed on the waiting list (if seats remain vacant) will take place from April 2 to April 6, 2024.
